Ahead Centenary Anniversary: C&S Church to meet Tinubu, govs over increasing insecurity, hunger, other ills

The Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria is perfecting plans to meet with President Bola Tinubu where it hopes to discuss salient national issues, including the harsh economic conditions in the country, increasing insecurity and banditry across the country, hunger, youths joblessness, among others.

This was disclosed, on Monday, by Supreme Head of the Church, His Most Eminence Prophet (Dr.) Solomon Adegboyega Alao, during a World Press Conference organised to herald the Centenary Anniversary of the establishment of the Church.

Prophet Alao said these and others items would form part of the issues upon which the Church would offer useful advise to the government with a view to ameliorating the suffering of Nigerians as is presently the case.

The Secretary General of the C&S Unification Church, Senior Apostle Tayo Ajose, who addressed the press on behalf of the Supreme Head, reeled out various programmes already earmarked to celebrate the centenary year of the church.

Apostle Ajose said, “As leaders, part of the issues we intend to discuss with Mr President is the plight of Nigerians. He will listen to us because we know his ears are listening ears.”

Prophet Alao also distanced the church from individuals posing as church members while using its identity to welcome fraudulent individuals, popularly known as ‘Yahoo boys‘ into the church, and other un-Christian practices especially as is witnessed in the social media.

He stated further that the church is set to launch public sensitisation programmes to expose impostors.

When confronted with the effort of the church to rid it of bad eggs within its rank and file, he continued, “We don’t have that massive coercive power. What we can do is to continue bridging the gap and educate people about what is expected of children of God or any religious group. Our real challenge is that, as a church, we don’t have the authority to enforce actions against those outside our fold”.

“There will be an event tagged, ‘Walk from Ikare, in Ondo State to Ago-Ishofin, in Lagos State. Additionally, a pictorial exhibition showcasing the history of the Cherubim & Seraphim Church will be held. As part of the centenary activities, plans are underway to host a grand centenary praise/prophetic night, as well as to commission several CSR projects. These efforts will go hand in hand with medical outreaches in different parts of the country.”

“When our fathers and mothers visit the president, it would be to tell him the truth, ask him about the well being of the country and advise him on the need to change the economic policies. We will also pray for him because we believe in the efficacy of prayers, and minister to him to change his tactics economically. We will not limit our visit to prayers alone, we will back it up with action. The church is intentional in addressing issues, especially economic issues. If you must know, our fathers advised all our churches to stop everything we do everyday and pray for the nation at 12 midnight and we have been doing just that. Nobody is happy with the rate of kidnapping and banditry as a result of the harsh situation of things. So, the C&S church is not resting on its oars in this regard and we pray that God will help us.

“Throughout this year, up until September 9, 2025, a variety of activities have been lined up to celebrate the centenary of the birth of the church. Themed, ‘Centenary Without Boundaries,’ the Unification Church is poised to showcase its strengths to the world in many facets of life. Throughout the year, Seraphs and friends of the Church will be actively engaged in their localities through programmes that highlight what the Cherubim & Seraphim Church stands for.

He further announced that the Grand Finale of the centenary anniversary would take place on September 9, 2025.
