Again, bandits attack Kaduna, abduct nursing mothers, babies

Four nursing mothers and their babies were among the 18 persons, allegedly kidnapped in Mando village of Birnin-Gwari Local Govermment Area of Kaduna State when gunmen suspected to be bandits stormed area.
The Chairman, Birnin-Gwari Emirate Development Union (BEDU), Barrister Salisu Haruna, who confirmed the incident said the bandits had arrived the village surreptiously and studied the environment of their would -be victims before attacking them at night.The affected village, Mando, is about five and three kilometers away from Birnin Gwari town and the Airforce base in town, respectively.

Haruna added that though the bandits did not come with any means of movement, they later left with four motorcycles,food items and their victims.“The bandits were heavily armed with dangerous guns and are about eight of them according to one of the persons that managed to escape. They went away with 18 people including four nursing mothers and their babies, four motorcycles and plenty of food stuffs,” the chairman said, adding that no demand for ransom had so far been made.
He appealed to security agencies to intervene and rescue the victims.
