Africa Youth Cup: Restoration Starlets in good start

Bayelsa’s Restoration Starlets made a good start in the Africa Youth Cup Sunday evening with a 4-1 demolition of home side Misto Barlavento in their first game.
The Teibowei Diepreye tutored side silenced the home fans just after five minutes when gangling Alison William scored the first goal from the spot. Barely two minutes later William struck again with a header.
Barlavento managed to pull one back before the end of the first half, only for the Restoration Starlets to bang in two more goals in the second stanza to record a comfortable 4-1 victory.
While the Bayelsa boys dazzled, Ivorian side Volcan Junior thought Pawas Academy of Jos some soccer lessons in a game that ended 3-1 in favor of Volcan.
Pawas took the lead only to concede three second half goals in a game in which the enjoyed the support of a handful of Nigerian supporters.
Achike Ofodile who is the leader of delegation for Pawas said the loss is only a temporary setback which his boys would overcome.
“We may have lost but it’s not over for us. We have two more games, let’s see how it goes,” Ofodile said.
He commended Volcan Junior for giving his boys a good game in the tournament which is living up to its top billing.
