A second term for Gov. Sule’ll ensure continuity, stability, says Sen. Adamu

A former Governor of Nasarawa State, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu (APC, Nasarawa West), has said that a second term in office for incumbent Governor of the state, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, will ensure continuity and stability in the state.

Senator Adamu stayed this in a speech when he led stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from the Western Senatorial zone, on a thank-you visit on Engineer Sule, at the Government House, on Wednesday.

The lawmaker, who led stakeholders of the ruling party from his senatorial zone, to thank the Governor for appointing one of their own, Dr. John Mamman, as the state Caretaker Chairman of the APC, pointed out that a second term for Engineer Sule would ensure the Governor continues with laudable development strides.

Highlighting on the qualities of the state APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Adamu hailed the decision of the Governor to appoint Dr. Mamman to lead the party in the state.

The lawmaker however pointed out that to whom much was given, much was expected, and as such, the Western Senatorial zone must ensure that Dr. Mamman succeeds as the Chairman of the APC.

Senator Adamu stressed therefore that the only way the zone can show support for this magnanimous gesture from the Governor, is for the zone must to ensure that every nook and cranny in the zone is delivered to the APC.

Like their previous visit to the Government House, the Nasarawa West APC stakeholders, restated their total support for the Governor, declaring further that Engineer Sule remains the only viable candidate for the zone come 2023.

Sen. Adamu however called on the governor that despite the total support from the Western zone, he should continue with his development efforts and not to go to sleep.

Responding, Governor Sule, commended the leadership, unity and cohesiveness of the people of the Nasarawa West Senatorial zone, urging them to sustain the tempo, not only for hos political ambition, but for the development of the zone.

According to the Governor,  his administration is always encouraged to do more not only for the zone but Nasarawa State as a whole, mostly  because of the massive support from the zone, especially whenever the state government initiates something that will go to the zone.

Governor Sule described the appointment of Dr. John Mamman as the state Caretaker Chairman of the APC as the choice of God, adding that the interim party chairman never showed any interest to occupy the office.

He described Dr. Mamman as a loyal party man, who is honest, competent and has the capacity to lead the party in the state.

Commenting on the support from the zone, Engineer Sule informed the stakeholders that, considering his experience from the organized private sector,  It’s not in his character to fall asleep while working to achieve an objective.

The Governor hinted on the strategy he will use to vanquish any opposition ahead of the 2023 general election, saying that the best way to deal with the opposition is to take a position that will scare them out of the competition.

“You do that in politics by doing the best you can. If I am suppose to construct 10 roads, my plan is to construct 20.

“If there is expectations from the people for me to build 200 schools, my plan is to build 400 schools,” he stated.

Governor Sule said this was the best way to approach the opposition is by performance, by doing things that will make it difficult for somebody to come forward as a challenger.

“This is our plan for APC. It’s not a plan within APC but for APC against others. If there is any political party that is coming to override us, our plan is to override them,” Engineer Sule said.
