Dismissed soldier arrested for robbery in Lagos

A dismissed soldier, who clad in military camouflage to rob commuters have been arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command.
The suspect, Johnson Godday, formerly attached to Nigerian Army, 149 Batallion, Ojo, Lagos, was arrested at Ojudu area of Lagos.
According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), the suspect was arrested following a report by one Onyebuchi Mwanga.

Adejobi said Nwanga alleged that on February 21, while alighting from a tricycle with his friends at Emmanuel street junction, they suddenly noticed two men, on a motorcycle, in military uniform, who attacked them and snatched his Infinix 5 smart phones.
The PPRO said: “ Nwanga further stated that when they raised an alarm, the policemen attached to Ogudu Division on duty around the scene came to their rescue and arrested the suspect in Army uniform while the other, also in the Nigerian Army uniform, escaped with the motorcyclist.
“ The snatched phone was immediately recovered from the suspect.
“ In the course of police investigation, Johnson Godday, from Edo State, confessed that he was attached to NA 149 Batallion, Ojo, Lagos before he was dismissed from the Nigerian Army.”
