First Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Seyi Akinwumi, has declared that the soccer federation is set to organise a superb event in today’s second Aiteo/NFF football awards at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos State.
The AITEO-NFF Football Awards is an annual event that rewards the best performers in the Nigerian Football industry over a period of 12 months, and debuted with much applause and accolades last year.
Akinwumi, who is the Chairman of the awards committee, told The Nigerian Xpress Sports that everything has been put in place for a world class event that would even be better than the much celebrated maiden edition.

“As we speak, all is set for the show that would be graced by Secretary-General of world football governing body, FIFA, Ms. Fatma Samoura, (the first woman holder of that exalted position and a proud daughter of the African continent) and other top football personalities, our corporate sponsors and other stakeholders,” Akinwumi said.
He further disclosed that six state governors had been invited, alongside Nigeria’s Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung.
Out-going Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, and the FIFA Secretary General, Fatma Samoura, would receive special awards at the occasion.
When it debuted last year, it marked the first time that the nation’s football governing body was organising an awards ceremony to reward and inspire the major actors and actresses in the Nigerian Football space.
