25th Anniversary: Sweet Sensation will improve on ‘Feeding the Hungry’ programme, says MD

The Managing Director, Sweet Sensation, Mrs Kehinde Kamson, on Tuesday said the fast food restaurant would improve on its ‘Feeding the Hungry’ programme as it marked its 25th Anniversary.

Kamson, who made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said the programme was for the less privileged in the society.

According to her, the fast food industry has been feeding about 1,500 people in poverty-stricken areas of Lagos every two months.

“From a humble beginning, Sweet Sensation has come thus far in fast food business.

“We would not have done it without our customers, trade partners and vendors.

“That is why this 25th anniversary is dedicated to our customers specially, with the raffle tickets and award promo which started from September 1 to October 31.

“Everybody that bought food worth N1,500 got the raffle ticket and had the chance to participate in the draw,’’ Kamson said.

According to her, we have taken up the responsibility to continue feeding our unique customers from poverty-stricken areas and ensure they got a taste of the fast food delicacies.

“We are doing this through our `Feeding the Hungry programme’,’’ she said.

Kamson said that the company’s trade partners and vendors were also given the opportunity to participate in the raffle draw and chose the19 winners of the award.

She said out of the 19 winners, seven were its customers in  Abeokuta, Ogun and 12 customers in Lagos.

Kamson said that as part of the 25th anniversary, the food chain would take its `Feeding the Hungry’ programme to the next level.

She said that once the staff identified the area they wanted to visit, they would carry out sensitisation programme before the day the foods would be distributed.

Mr Tunji Kamson, Executive Director, Sweet Sensation, during the award ceremony held on Friday urged Nigerian entrepreneurs to remain steadfast in business irrespective of the financial difficulties.

According to him, it is the doggedness of the management of the company in ensuring that the food outlet succeeds that brings about the success story celebrated at its 25th anniversary.

He said that from a small cake shop and food eatery around a corner, Sweet Sensation grew to the size it is today.

Mrs Ayo Anibaba, also an Executive Director, Sweet Sensation, said that the customers were the reason for the 25th anniversary celebration.

She said that Sweet Sensation had over 25 food outlets in Lagos alone and also in Abeokuta, saying that without the customers, the fast food restaurant would not be celebrating today.

Mrs Beitha Ejiawoko, the winner of the air conditioner, the star prize of the promo, said that she was grateful as all her various visits to Sweet Sensation were not intended for any award.

She was represented by her daughter, Doris Ejiawoko.

She prayed that God would continue to guide the management to improve on what they know best and left a legacy for others to emulate.

Mr Olushola Saheed, the winner of a refrigerator, said he thought it was a scam when he was invited that he won a prize.

”I was encouraged by my boss to come and see if it was true.

”I am grateful that Sweet Sensation lived up to our expectations.

”With this, I am encouraged to patronise the food outlet more,” he said.

NAN reports that other winners went home with micro wave, standing fans, 32 and 24 inches television sets, water dispenser, table burner and gas cooker. (NAN)
