Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Sunday, played host to Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed.
Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed disclosed this, on his Twitter handle, and also shared pictures from the meeting.
The visit might not be unconnected to the candidates’ move to gain wider acceptance and necessary stakeholders’ support for their ambition through nationwide consultation.
According to the post, “Earlier today, myself and H. E. #PeterObi in company of other #NgLabour chieftains consulted with the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo,” he captioned the pictures.
Before Sunday’s visit to the former president, pictures of Mr. Obi’s visit to a former Military Head of State, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) on possible consultation grounds had surfaced online.
Mr. Obi, who is a former Governor of Anambra State had, on July 8, unveiled Datti Baba-Ahmed as his running mate.
The Labour Party vice presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has explained why he accepted his nomination as the running mate to the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
