2023: Benue gov. warns PDP over Gov. Wike ‘exclusion’

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has warned that it would be dangerous for the PDP not to address the injustices meted out to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Governor Ortom said the injustice meted out to him must be addressed before the 2023 election or the party might face a dangerous task.

The governor spoke during the party stakeholders meeting held at the new banquet hall of the Government House, in Makurdi, on Monday.

According to him, “If you dismiss us that you don’t need us, I believe that will be dangerous. I want the party to address the injustices so that as we move into the election, we will work together and we will have no crisis.”

According to him, there is an injustice that had been meted to his friend, Governor Wike because he stood for the party and supported it to the end.

Governor Ortom stated that the leadership of the party should do the needful to resolve the problem and not shove people around as though they are not relevant.

He insisted that everyone was relevant and that one vote could make the party fail in an election.

Governor Ortom added, “So, the leadership at the national level should do more; politics is about interest and what is the interest of our state and our people? What do I tell my people in Benue?”

He lamented that the leadership of the party was not able to deploy its internal conflict resolution management skills in solving the problems that arose and then, it has continued.
