The defendant, who resides at Ajah, Lagos, is facing a count charge of attempt to pervert justice.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Godwin Oriabure, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 29, at 4.00p.m. at Ilasan Police Station, Lagos.
He said that the defendant stood as surety for Genesis Amadi facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and assault occasioning harm.
Oriabure said that Godspower promised to produce Genesis anytime he would be needed by the police but failed to do so on three occasions.

The alleged offence contravened Sections 97 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 97 provides for seven years’ imprisonment for attempt to pervert justice.
Godspower, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate Mrs Oluwatoyin Ojuromi, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She said that one of the sureties must be his blood relation and both sureties should show evidence of two years’ tax payment to Lagos State Government.
The case was adjourned until April 25 for mention. (NAN)
