Two Cuban Doctors working in Kenya were abducted on Friday after their armed guard was killed, Police said.
Police added that the doctors were then driven toward neighbouring Somalia.
They were heading to work in Mandera County, in north Kenyan, on Friday, when their vehicle was blocked by another and their guard shot dead, police spokesman Charles Owino told dpa.
The kidnappers “then commandeered the vehicle towards the border’’ within Somalia, he said.

Owino referred to the kidnappers as “terrorists,’’ though he did not say which group he believes to be responsible.
However, militants from Somalia’s al-Shabaab group are known to target foreigners working in the area.
The doctors were part of a contingent deployed in Kenya as part of an exchange programme with the Cuban government. (NAN)
