19-yr-old jilted woman sets ex- boyfriend’s lover ablaze

A 19-year-old jilted woman, Jemila Ibrahim, has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, for setting ablaze her ex-boyfriend’s lover. 
It was gathered that Ibrahim had allegedly perpetrated the heinous in company of her friend, Fatima Mohammed, 21,  at Monkey Village, Festac Town, Lagos, on November 18.
Preliminary investigations revealed Ibrahim was dumped by her former lover, Mohammed Yusuf, allegations bothering on infidelity, in October.
Yusuf had reportedly moved on and fallen in love with  a woman simply identified as  Rabi, but the aggrieved Ibrahim, who had threatened to deal with the duo made good her threat.
Confirming the arrest of the suspects, the  Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said Rabi died from burns wound sustained from the inferno.
Adejobi said: “ Mohammed Yusuf, an ex-lover to Jemila Ibrahim, had the hint of the incident and rushed to the house where he met his house on flame but managed to rescue Rabi, his new lover, from the inferno and took her to the hospital where she gave up the ghost on November 21, at about 12p.m.
“Yusuf had alleged his former lover, Jemila Ibrahim, of infidelity before they broke up; he later met and fell in love with his new lover, Rabi, that was caught up in the inferno.
“The duo of Jemila Ibrahim,  and her friend, Fatimo Mohammed,  of Monkey Village, who accompanied Jemila to commit the heinous crime, have been arrested by the police operatives attacked to Satellite Division of the command. ”
The PPRO said the Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP), Hakeem Odumosu, has condemned the crime, and ordered that the matter be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, for discreet investigation.
He said that the Commissioner of Police  has also vowed to go after those who engage in crimes and social vices in order to get Lagos State rid of criminals and criminality.
“The police boss however encouraged Lagosians to shun taking laws into their hands; noting that jungle justice will only truncate the administration of justice and such could be counterproductive, ” he said.
